Tennis Professional—Western Athletic Club | Cincinnati, Ohio
Western Athletic Club is looking for an energetic, dependable, and people-focused Tennis Professional to join our team. Western is a family-owned, indoor club with a welcoming culture, a strong sense of community, and a passion for helping players grow at every stage of the game.
This position is an excellent opportunity for a tennis professional who enjoys teaching both adults and juniors, building lasting relationships, and working as part of a supportive team—the Western Way!
Position Responsibilities
- Teach private and group lessons for adults and juniors of all ages and skill levels
- Coach junior players throughout the USTA pathway, including Red, Orange, Green, and Yellow Ball
- Deliver organized, engaging, and developmentally appropriate instruction
- Teach fundamentals, technique, strategy, match play, sportsmanship, and a love of the game
- Create a positive learning environment that builds confidence and keeps players engaged
- Develop strong relationships with members, parents, players, and fellow staff
- Assist with adult clinics, junior programming, camps, special events, and other tennis activities
- Help grow participation by welcoming new players and encouraging continued involvement
- Communicate professionally regarding schedules, player development, and program information
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional on-court environment
- Represent Western Athletic Club and the Western Way in every interaction
Qualifications
- One to two years of experience teaching both adults and juniors
- Experience coaching Red, Orange, Green, and Yellow Ball players
- Ability to teach beginners through advanced players
- Strong playing background and sound knowledge of tennis fundamentals, technique, and strategy
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Positive, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented
- Ability to connect with children, adults, and families
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends
- Current professional certification is preferred; Western will support continued USTA coaching education and certification
