In this role, you will be responsible for providing world-class and memorable services to the membership both; on and off the tennis courts. Ensure that we exceed the membership needs by having well-planned and well-run organized play, events, lessons, reservations, and assistance on equipment and merchandise. Coordinate all facets of the tennis program and assist in any way that best serves our members and teammates at Desert Mountain.
The ideal candidate will be highly engaging, outgoing, energetic, team player, and have a can-do spirit. Must have a minimum of 3 years as a Head Professional or Director, and the availability to work year-round. Tennis teaching and programming experience required. Previous experience in a high-end club or resort preferred.
- 4.5 level player or higher.

JOB DETAILS
Responsibilities:
On Court:
- Administer or participate in all sessions of Drop In Play throughout the week to include, but not limited to, Women’s, Men’s, and Mixed Drop In Play.
- Oversee the instruction of clinics for men, women, and juniors.
- Organize and lead tennis lessons throughout the summer and holiday seasons.
- Develop and shape the tennis game.
- Performs private, group lessons, and clinics upon request.
- Facilitate drop-in and round-robins as assigned.
- Plan and run tennis leagues and events at Desert Mountain.
- Maintains current and up to date knowledge in teaching methods and styles.
- Maintains current knowledge of paddles, balls, and courts, including construction and materials.
Off Court:
- Restring and/or regrip racquets for members and guests, and new demo racquets as needed.
- Visible and actively engages Members to grow participation and share Desert Mountain updates.
- Consistently improve the recurrent events and interact with other departments functional to those events’ success.
- Introduces new events into the tennis program providing a greater opportunity for members to participate in and enjoy the game, leagues, ladders, interclub and intraclub events.
- Perform all assigned administrative duties to include maintaining record of players’ performance, rankings, and USTA ratings.
- Develops appropriate signage and communications for tennis events and activities to improve member awareness and recognition of the program.
- Promote events, clinics, leagues, and activities by calling, texting, and communicating to members.
- Use club software in booking courts, scheduling events, lessons, and clinics.
- Be available to the members to promote the tennis program.
- Assists in the set-up of the ball machine.
- Assists in all facets of work related to The Sonoran Shop, when needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports.
Compensation:
$65,000.00 – 70,000.00 based on experience plus Commission 60-65% range DOE
Yearly Bonus: 5% paid based on performance and Clothing Allowance: $500.

- Required to push and/or pull, and lift and/or move up to 35 pounds – Frequently
- Required to be on feet for long periods of time.
- Considerable consecutive hours outside in very physical environment with varying conditions.
- Exposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather – Occasionally
- Required to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
