The Assistant Director of Racquet Sports will serve as the on court ambassador of tennis and pickleball at the Forest Club. Assistant DOR will bring energy and enthusiasm into each encounter with our membership and their guests. A service first mindset and a willingness to collaborate with fellow staff is paramount. Candidate will answer directly to the Director of Racquet Sports and will work in tandem to execute our calendar of clinics, socials, and tournaments for both tennis and pickleball.
Assistant Director of Racquet Sports responsibilities include;
· At least 30 hours on court teaching schedule.
· 10 hours off court responsibilities including; strategic calendar and programs planning, program/event organization and execution, and pro shop assistance.
· Assist in planning and execution of weekly tennis and pickleball lesson and clinic schedules.
· Assist in planning and execution of tennis and pickleball socials and competitive tournaments.
· Coordinate with Maintenance crew to ensure court readiness for league play, member play, and lessons. Assist the director and maintenance staff in keeping a tidy facility.
· Maintain open and prompt communication with fellow staff and membership.
· Abide by all club rules and policies, and assist the Director in enforcing these policies.
Ideal candidate qualifications
· RSPA or PTR certified.
· Collegiate playing experience, UTR 8+ or equivalent rating.
· Private club teaching experience.
Compensation includes salary, health/dental/vision insurance, simple IRA with 3% match, and 70% of gross commissions.
Nestled amidst the pine trees, The Forest Club offers a serene retreat where families and friends can gather and dine, play tennis, swim, and exercise. The use of the Clubhouse and other facilities of the Club is restricted to the members of the club, their families, guests and visitors invited.
The Forest Club is a private member owned boutique club in the memorial area of Houston, Texas. Founded in 1946, the club has nine tennis courts (5 clay, 4 hard) and four pickleball courts. The club focuses on families to foster a friendly environment where everyone knows your name.
