Full-time / Part-time Tennis Professional (Coach)
at Rancho Penasquitos Tennis Center/Tierrasanta Tennis Club in San Diego, CA
Position Overview: ACTA is looking for full-time/part-time tennis professional
coaches. Applicants must be familiar with player development and the junior pathway
(red, orange, green, yellow) or be willing to learn about our coaching philosophy. Will be an
employee responsible for clinics from red ball through high-performance juniors to
adults. Private lessons are roughly 25%-33% of all hours. Must be available weekdays
(3 to 9 pm) and weekends. Will report to the Director of Tennis & Program Manager, &
collaborate with the Director of Curriculum and the team. There are opportunities in the
company to move into a leadership capacity with expanded compensation.
Day-to-day responsibilities
• Assist & support clinics, ensuring smooth class instruction & fitness
• Teach private or small group lessons following the junior pathway system
• Maintain & organize court and patios (clean equipment, etc.)
• Interact with students, parents, & coworkers in a professional and polite way
• Attend all mandatory staff meetings & on-court trainings
• Communicate regularly about schedules & performance

• Reliable: prepping clinics 5-10 minutes early & cleaning after clinics

• Adaptable: ACTA is a large program at 2 clubs with moving pieces. We seek
consistency session to session, & coaches must be willing to alter schedules
Requirements
• Professional Certification (compensation tied to degree & years of teaching)
• Physical Requirements (year-round outdoor with lifting/carrying equipment)
• Experience (includes college tennis and/or professional competition/exposure)
