The Merion Cricket Club is rich in history and tradition and boasts an extensive tennis membership of over 500 families. Located approximately 7 miles outside of center city Philadelphia, the Club is one of the finest racquets and tennis facilities in the nation. A five acre “Great Lawn” is impeccably manicured and is home to 22 grass courts. In addition to the grass courts, the club boasts eleven 11 Har-Tru (Teniko) courts, 1 outdoor hard court, 4 indoor hard courts, 2 doubles squash courts, 8 singles squash courts, 4 platform tennis courts, 4 outdoor pickleball courts, 4 indoor pickleball courts (shared with tennis), and 4 outdoor padel courts (currently under construction, with completion scheduled for early June of 2026)
The Club is looking to employ a full-time teaching professional, who will report to the Director of Tennis at Merion Cricket Club. The applying professional must have a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching in the private club industry or the academy industry, RSPA level 2 certification, and must have a 5.0+ NTRP rating as a player.
This position is an opportunity to build a career in the private club industry, allowing the professional to grow and develop as a tennis professional with future potential to fit into a director’s role.
It is important that the candidate is passionate about tennis in providing excellent member services both on and off the court. The applicant must exhibit a personality that is energetic, self-motivated, outgoing, positive and consistent, with a high moral character and a strong work ethic. The applicant will be expected to be extremely organized, creative and dependable, with strong, timely, consistent communication skills (verbal and written). It is essential that the applicant is team-oriented and works well with others.

Founded in 1865, The Merion Cricket Club located in scenic Haverford, Pennsylvania, is situated on Philadelphia’s Main Line, approximately 7 miles outside of Center City.
