
Position: Tennis Professional Seasonal
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Tennis
Summary/Objective
The Tennis Professional assist the Director of Tennis in the management all tennis activities; assists in the implementation and administration of the Tennis Committee directive and policies; reports violations of policies and club rules to the Director of Tennis. The position will promote an exceptional "tennis experience," and provide excellent services and programs for all Members/Guests.
Essential Functions
1. Work closely with Director of Tennis is ensure all programs and events are run at a 5-star level.
2. Meet weekly with the staff to go through operations and planning of upcoming events.
3. Develop with Director of Tennis and other staff members a comprehensive program for adult ladies including competitive and social.
4. Run/coach team practice for ladies’ teams.
5. Be able to create lesson plans prior to the start of the week for all levels of lady’s team practice.
6. Prepare site for home matches including refreshments for your teams. Collect balls for teaching hoppers.
7. Manage to communicate/do line ups for your team players before/after matches. Very possible you will direct one team want you get familiar and ready.
Overall Duties
1. Act as Pro on duty when Director is not present. Make decisions in a responsible manner. Ensure the operation runs 100% effectively.
2. Aid in solutions to problems – not complaints.
3. Follow all rules established by Club.
4. Work effectively to accomplish the Club’s “Mission Statement”.
5. Know all Programs/Events and rates.
6. Start and finish lessons on time.
7. Book lessons on the reservation system.
8. Keep a record of lessons on the appointment book.
9. Stringing when needed. With coordination with other Pro assistants.
10. Keep a stringing log with follow-up records.
11. Attend one weekly staff meeting or as needed.
12. Attend and help coordinate all events as outlined in the FRCC 2023-24 Tennis Calendar.
13. Act as Team Liaison for one or two ladies’ teams which will include
a) Do one ladies team warm-up per week.
b) Text /or contact each member of the playing team on day of the match.
Congratulating or consoling with helpful instructional information.
14. While not teaching, assist in Pro Shop.
15. Play with member as a fourth when not needed in Pro Shop or not busy.
16. Write incidents reports for injuries that may happen on the court by members / juniors.
17. Ensure teaching balls are picked up after lessons /clinics and ready for lessons.
18. Ensure ball machine operation/bookings/availability (including set-up and take down) is a smooth operation.
19. Ensure demo racquets are returned by day’s end.
20. Close the tennis facility as outlined in the written procedures one evening per week.
22. Assist with court maintenance in emergency situations.
23. Always be service oriented with a can-do attitude.
24. Conduct yourself in a responsible, professional manner at all times, both on and off the court.
25. Report to Director of Tennis and Protect Director of Tennis with eyes and ears.

Work Environment
This position must work outside and be subject to extreme heat and inclement weather to
accomplish tasks. Must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self
or others.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds of weight.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a seasonal position. Days and hours of work are according to business demands. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend & holiday work as needed.
Travel
Local travel is necessary for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Must be a Certified USPTA Professional, preferably an Elite Professional; should be a college graduate; should have extensive teaching experience; extensive playing experience; should have at least 5 years of experience preferably in country clubs.
