Established in 1958, The Birchwood Club is a private, family-focused community located in the heart of Highland Park, IL. Members and their guests enjoy a variety of racquet sports programming alongside exceptional dining, social events and activities.

Position Summary:
The Birchwood Club is seeking a seasonal Pickleball & Tennis Professional. The position will start on April 27th and end on September 7th. The professional will work closely with the Director of Racquets to support the overall management and operation of the racquets program. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Teach private and group lessons to members of all levels
-Teach team drills, clinics and junior drills
-Run the men’s, women’s and mixed pickle open play
-Run the men’s and mixed in-house pickle leagues
-Run events, camps, mixers and tournaments
-Attend the men’s, women’s and mixed pickle league matches
-Assist with administrative duties for programs and events
-Supervise the hitter staff
-Provide the weekly schedule for the hitter staff
-Assist with court maintenance when needed
-Ensure that all members and their guests receive courteous, prompt and professional attention
-Ensure that all private and group lessons are billed every pay period
-Maintain cleanliness, organization and safety throughout the court areas
-Ensure members are well-served in selecting and purchasing pro shop merchandise
-Complete duties assigned by the Director of Racquets
Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience in the racquet sports industry. Candidates who have worked at private clubs will be seriously considered. The qualifications and experience include, but are not limited to:
-Bachelor’s degree
-USPTA or USPTR certification for pickleball and tennis is preferred
-Accomplished pickleball and tennis player with tournament experience
-Strong in the areas of communication, organization and attention to detail
-Passion for racquet sports, teaching and member experience
-Able to build relationships with staff and the membership
-Experience developing fun and engaging programs/events
