Position Summary
The Boise Racquet and Swim Club seeks an accomplished, energetic, and strategic Director of
Tennis to lead and elevate all aspects of the Club’s tennis operations. This is an exceptional
leadership opportunity for a tennis professional who thrives in a relationship-oriented,

innovative programs.
The successful candidate will be more than a top instructor; they will be a visionary leader who
unites members and staff around a shared vision for tennis excellence. This role is responsible
for delivering an outstanding member experience through high-quality programming, strong staff
leadership, organized leagues and tournaments, sound financial management, and a visible,
positive on-court presence. The Director of Tennis serves as the primary ambassador for tennis
within the Club and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Vision (approximately 25%)
• Provide strategic direction and long-term vision for all tennis programming and
operations.
• Partner with the General Manager, Programs Director, Member Services Director, and
Programs Committee to align tennis initiatives, policies, and capital planning with the
Club’s strategic goals.
• Develop and manage a nationally recognized junior and adult tennis program and facility.
• Achieve a minimum +50 satisfaction rating in membership survey responses specific to
tennis programs, events, and overall experience.
• Conduct monthly department meetings and provide regular updates to Club leadership.
• Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture among tennis staff and across departments.
• This position, Director of Tennis, is commonly a 40 plus hour work week schedule that
includes teaching hours.
Programming & Member Experience (approximately 20%)
• Build and oversee a comprehensive tennis program that balances:
o Social and competitive play
o Instructional programming
o Family-friendly offerings
o Opportunities for all ages and skill levels
• Expand and enhance junior and youth tennis programming.
• Develop and maintain an annual tennis and events calendar.
• Coordinate and manage:
o Club Championships
o 3 - 4 additional adult tournaments annually
o 3 junior tournaments annually
• Manage the BRSC Block System to maximize participation, satisfaction, and organization.
• Track participation metrics and evaluate program performance for continuous
improvement.
• Develop structured new member onboarding and engagement initiatives.
• Be visible and accessible to members and staff.
Instruction & On-Court Presence (approximately 20%)
• Maintain an active on-court presence, providing:
o Private and/or group lessons
o Team instruction
o League and tournament coaching
• Lead by example in sportsmanship, professionalism, and positive energy.
• Uphold and consistently enforce club policies regarding sportsmanship, attire, and
facility use.
Staff Leadership & Development (approximately 20%)
• Recruit, onboard, train, supervise, mentor, coach, and evaluate tennis staff.
• Set annual departmental and individual performance goals.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
• Offer professional development opportunities for team members.
• Build a strong, service-focused culture centered on excellence and accountability.
Operations & Financial Management (approximately 10%)
• Manage departmental budget and expenses responsibly.
• Submit invoices in a timely manner.
• Ensure courts, facilities, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards at all
times.
• Maintain proficiency in management systems, point-of-sale platforms, MS Office tools,
and tournament organization software.
• Oversee tournament operations and event logistics with exceptional organization and
professionalism.
Community & Industry Engagement (approximately 5%)
• Represent BRSC with distinction in the community and within the tennis industry.
• Build collaborative partnerships with:
o United States Tennis Association (USTA)
o Racquet Sports Professionals Association (RSPA)
o Idaho District Tennis Association (IDTA)
o NCAA
o Idaho High School Activities Association
• Participate in regional and national tennis organizations and initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
• Minimum 4 - 6 years of progressive experience managing tennis programs and staff,
including high level junior programs preferably in a private club or hospitality
environment.
• Demonstrated experience teaching tennis, including leagues, clinics, private instruction,
and tournaments.
• Certification from a recognized racquet sports organization (e.g., RSPA, PTR, USPTA).
• Experience in tournament operations and event management.
• Proficiency in MS Office and tournament software.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to handle conflict resolution with parents, juniors, and club members.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required or necessary.
Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Recreation, or related field.
• Former collegiate and/or high-level playing experience.
• Prior supervisory and budget management experience.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and tournament management software.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary Range: Competitive and commensurate with experience, anticipated minimum
$70,000/YR
Additional Earning “Potential”: Private and/or group lessons, year-end performance bonus,
tournament/event/club sponsorship

The Boise Racquet and Swim Club is a premier private tennis and sports club located in Boise, Idaho. Our facility includes 14 indoor hard courts, 7 outdoor hard courts, and 2 clay courts. We have a strong membership base with a two year wait list. Our seasonal outdoor pool is open May - September and our programming in both tennis, fitness, swimming and social is robust and focused on providing an outstanding member experience.
