Position Summary:
Promote the growth of tennis, pickleball and padel at Fisher Island Club. To supervise in the absence of the Director or Head Racquets Professional, (as the “Manager on Duty”) and be responsible for the operation of the Racquets department, grounds and buildings in a manner that reflects the mission of the Racquets Department.

The mission of the Racquets operation is to offer a comprehensive program that is responsive to the needs of the membership, including a consistent level of service that meets or exceeds expectations to build a strong community of racquet sports enthusiasts.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operations
· As the “Manager on Duty”, supervise and be accountable for all work that is to be performed by all staff members including but not limited to maintenance duties outlined below.
· Ensure the timely preparation of materials for the department newsletter and website. Materials to include information on all junior activities.
· Report and own any problems, issues, or equipment malfunctioning throughout the facility.
· Ensure all junior activities, lessons, and clinics are properly booked in advance on the system.
· Create all marketing campaigns alongside the Head Racquets Professional for all junior events ensuring the marketing campaigns are out at least two-three weeks in advance.
· Communicate with parents in a proactive and positive way.
Teaching / Instructional Program
· Manage the Junior Racquets Program. Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
• Ensure accurate completion of member charges and payment for all junior program lessons, interclub, and junior events.
• Planning, executing and managing an “Intra-Club” League Program or Junior Team Tennis.
• Planning, executing and managing a creative Summer Racquets Camp program, including participation in sports camps, including the coordination of part-time instructors.
• Planning a Junior Racquets Calendar of events each year in consultation with the Head Racquets Professional and Director.
• Planning, executing and managing a year-round Junior Development Instructional Program.
· Work with the Head Racquets Professional and Director in planning and coordinating all racquet sports instructional programs, lesson plans and new programs.
· Teach racquet sports lessons, clinics and team practice sessions for members and children as requested by the Head Racquets Professional or Director.
Member Events & Programs
· Always promote all events and weekly programs with all members.
· Assist with running member tournaments, mixers and other special events as requested by the Head Racquets Professional or Director.
· Watch members participate in league play to provide specific feedback and advice during team practices and clinics.
Pro Shop
· Work the pro shop desk when requested on absence of pro shop staff members.
· String member and demo racquets as requested so that all racquets are strung within the club’s 48-hour restringing policy.
· Work with the Pro Shop Manager to manage the level of racquets inventory and make recommendations on racquet close-outs / markdowns / or new products.
· Work with the Racquets Pro Shop staff to coordinate the introduction to members of new racquets, and merchandise including the use and presentation of demo racquets during lessons etc.
Racquet Club Maintenance
· Supervise and assist when needed the opening the facility and throughout the day to ensure that all courts and facility are prepared for play each day.
• Report to Head Racquets Professional any equipment or machinery that is not functioning correctly, including but not limited to rollers, carts, teaching equipment, ball machine, court lights and water fountains
