Position: Tennis Instructor/Professional (FT seasonal)

Job Summary
The Tennis Professional interacts with Club members and guests through teaching tennis (camps, clinics, and lessons), organizing activities, and promoting programs. These activities are scheduled for three months during the summer season.
Qualifications
Must be highly motivated;
Proven teaching ability with adults and juniors;
Professional tennis experience
Acceptable completion of a personal background check (post offer, pre-hire)
Licenses/Certifications
USPTA (Professional 3 or above) or USPTR (Instructor or above) certification
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach tennis, including private lessons, junior programs, adult programs, and specialty
Classes.
- Teach all camps and clinics.
- Help coordinate and run camps, socials, and exhibitions, etc.
- Provide customer service to all members and guests.
- Follow the lesson curriculum as determined by the Director of Outdoor Pursuits.
- Develop new tennis programs.
- Sell and promote programs and private lessons, as well as all other Club programs.
- Maintain accurate class attendance records.
- Once teaching times are established by the Director of Outdoor Pursuits, the Tennis Pro is responsible for blocking lesson times in advance.
- Stay up to date with industry teaching developments and incorporate them into teaching.
- Help maintain a clean and neat facility.
- Oversee and participate in daily clay court maintenance.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Provide professional stringing, regripping, and customization services for members.
- Manage a fleet of “demo” racquets, ensuring they are well-maintained and helping members select the right equipment for their game.
- Manage tennis inventory and equipment.
- Provide feedback to the Director of Outdoor Pursuits regarding equipment and program needs.
- Supervise and mentor junior tennis assistants to ensure all member interactions and instructional methods consistently meet the club’s premium service standards and safety protocols.
Physical Requirements
While working, the employee must be able to twist, stoop, and bend; reach above, at, and below shoulder level regularly; sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time. In addition, they must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.

- Participate in ongoing safety training.
- Driving company or personal vehicles on public roadways is a part of this job. Being hired into this position will require verification of a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record. Once hired, you will be responsible for maintaining a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
Compensation
- Salaried position paid semi-monthly
- Lesson and clinic fees
- commensurate with experience, $30-40k range
