Founded in 1896 as Illinois third golf club, Exmoor is a private, full-service country club, located in Highland Park, Illinois, 28 miles north of Chicago. With a championship golf course designed by Donald J. Ross, Exmoor continues to fulfill its original mission as a family club devoted to the game of golf, while offering a growing range of sports and social opportunities. Sports at Exmoor include golf, curling, tennis, swimming, ice skating, platform tennis, cross country skiing and the fastest growing sport in America pickleball. Position Description
The Head Racquet Sports Professional is instrumental in supporting the Director of Racquet Sports in creating, developing, and executing programs for the ultimate satisfaction and enjoyment of members and their families.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintain a detailed daily attendance log of all member/guest participants in all Racquet sports
- Ensure all balls, racquets, equipment, and teaching materials are maintained, and in supply (racquet stringing compensated per racquet)
- Provide private and group lessons as requested with compensation for lessons determined monthly and paid though regular payroll
- Maintain the Har-Tru courts with daily grooming as required
- Assists Director in training new staff
- Management of department and staff in Directors absence, as well as member services and Racquets program overall
- Takes ownership of promotions, organization, and operation of all Racquet events
- Assumes leadership role in the Junior Racquets Program, and manager of all phases of the program including, but not limited to: recruitment of participants, communications in appropriate media, instruction of all groups, accountability for recordkeeping, staff management, and junior team coaching and administration.
- Work in the Racquet Pro Shop as needed
- Assist in writing Racquets sports articles for the club newsletter and website as well as weekly emails to membership
- Management of Racquets portion of Club website and calendar, working with Clubs communications department ensuring that all events/programs are current, and information complete on website.
- Assist in developing a 12-month calendar of events for all racquet sports
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive annual salary and hourly compensation for program and private lessons commensurate with experience. Estimated range of total competition $65,000-$100,000.

Qualifications
- 2-4 years experience in a similar position at a high-end racquets facility
- Bachelors degree in relevant sports area desirable
- Certification with either Racquet Sports Professionals Association or Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), including sport specific certifications for tennis, platform tennis and pickleball. If not currently certified, expectation is to pursue certification within first year.
- Always present a professional manner and deliver exceptional service to members and guests
- Must be trustworthy, dependable and deliver the service excellence expectation
- Exhibit dedication and dependability to Exmoor in service to members
- Knowledgeable and confident in staff supervision and training
- Have experience in managing Racquets sports and handling issues that arise in the Directors absence
- Maintain professional working relationships with all staff and members
- Maintain a highly visible presence throughout Club to promote all Racquets programs and sports activities
- Should be organized and thorough in administrative functions
- Accountability for position that is generally six (6) days per week, days and starting time of day as assigned
- Completion of a personal daily time log of hours worked and any personal purchases
- Proper attire for the courts is always required as advised by the Racquets Professional
