Position Summary
Job Title: Full-Time Tennis Professional
Reports To: Racquet Sports Director and Head Tennis Professional
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate ($30-$40) based on experience, with annual earning potential of $60,000–$80,000.
Additional earning opportunities are available through profit sharing: private lessons and/or program leadership. A comprehensive benefits package is also offered.

The Rochester Athletic Club (RAC) is one of the Midwest's premier racquet sports facilities, offering extensive junior and adult tennis and pickleball programming.
Our facilities include:
- 11 indoor hard tennis courts
- 6 outdoor clay tennis courts
- 6 indoor pickleball courts
- 8 outdoor pickleball courts

Position Responsibilities
The Tennis Professional will assist the Racquet Sports Director and Head Tennis Professional in delivering high-quality tennis instruction and programming while creating an exceptional experience for RAC members.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach safe, professional, engaging, and enjoyable private lessons, group lessons, clinics, camps, and programs for junior and adult players.
- Assist in organizing and conducting tournaments, leagues, and special events.
- Become a certified USTA Official within six months of employment.
- Assist with Thrive racquet sales and racquet stringing services.
- Support pickleball programming when needed (pickleball experience is preferred but not required).
- Represent the Rochester Athletic Club professionally both on and off the court.
Financial Responsibilities
- Achieve performance goals established by the Racquet Sports Director and Head Tennis Professional.
- Assist in developing and delivering successful revenue-generating programs and special events.
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility through efficient use of tennis balls, equipment, and club resources.
Communication Expectations
- Respond promptly and professionally to member questions, requests, and concerns.
- Communicate effectively with fellow RAC associates and management.
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications & Certifications
Required:
- Minimum NTRP playing level of 4.0.
- USPTA or PTR certification (or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment).
- USTA Safe Play certification.
- CPR and AED certification within six months of employment (training provided by RAC).
Required Skills
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude with an energetic and professional demeanor.
- Strong verbal communication and group instruction skills.
- Ability to solve problems respectfully and independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with USTA Serve Tennis software is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to teach approximately 35 hours per week.
- Ability to remain active and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to demonstrate tennis skills and safely manage multiple players on court
