Position Overview
Arapahoe Tennis Club (ATC) is seeking an energetic, experienced, and member-focused Head Racquets Professional to assist in leading our tennis, pickleball, and Paddle programs. This role is ideal for a dynamic racquet sports professional passionate about program growth, high-quality instruction, and exceptional member engagement. The Head Racquets Professional will work closely with the Director of Racquets to build robust, inclusive, and sustainable racquet sports offerings across all ages and skill levels while contributing to key operational and event activities.
ATC features:
- 7 tennis courts (clay & hard)
- 4 pickleball courts
- 5 paddle courts
This position plays a pivotal role in growing racquet sports participation, especially pickleball and tennis in the spring and summer, while maintaining high standards and support of paddle programming.
Key Responsibilities
Tennis Instruction & Programming
- Deliver private and group tennis lessons (minimum 20 hours/week on-court instruction).
- Assist in planning and leading tennis drills, clinics, USTA league team practices, and social events.
- Collaborate on junior and adult instructional programs, including skill-based clinics and camps.
- Support competition teams, member tournaments, and internal events that promote engagement.
- Serve as a positive ambassador for tennis excellence and member experience.
Pickleball Leadership
- Design, implement, and grow pickleball programming from the ground up.
- Run pickleball drills, instructional clinics, organized leagues, round-robins, socials, and beginner programs.
- Serve as the primary on-court leader and subject-matter expert driving pickleball participation and member satisfaction.
- Promote pickleball offerings through marketing, events, and member communications.
Paddle Support
- Support paddle programming, including scheduling, league administration, and seasonal events.
- Assist in coordinating skill development clinics and member activities during Paddle season.
Operations & Club Support
- Assist with court maintenance
- Clay Courts: line upkeep, brushing, minor repairs
- Hard Courts: water brushing & leaf blowing
- Paddle Courts: shoveling, leaf blowing & snowboard repair
- Support club social events, tournaments, adult mixers, and community engagement initiatives.
- Contribute to marketing and promotional materials to grow participation and revenue.
- Help manage court schedules, member communications, and occasional administrative tasks.
- Partner with the Director of Racquets and club leadership to ensure alignment with strategic and service goals.
Qualifications & Certifications
Required:
- Proven experience teaching racquet sports (tennis, pickleball, paddle) at a private club, athletic club, or similarly competitive setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; member-centric service mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to design and lead instructional programs for various ages and abilities.
Preferred:
- Professional certifications such as:
- USPTA or PTR credentials in tennis.
- Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) or USA Pickleball coaching credentials.
- Professional Platform Tennis Registry (PPTR) or Platform Tennis teaching experience.
- Experience managing, mentoring, or supervising assistant pros or program staff.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary
· $40,000 - $60,000
Lesson Revenue Share:
- 75% / 25% lesson revenue split (Pro / Club)
Additional Earning Potential:

Compensation and benefits will be tailored to the candidate’s experience, certifications, and on-court leadership capabilities.
Schedule Expectations & Seasonal Focus
This is a full-time, year-round position with strong seasonal emphasis:
- Spring–Summer: Focus on pickleball and tennis programming, clinics, leagues, private lessons, and member events.
- Fall–Winter: Continued tennis & pickleball instruction until weather turns. Paddle support, administrative coordination, and seasonal programming.
- Weekend and evening hours will be required to support member play and scheduled events.
Professional Growth Opportunities
- Leadership pathways into Director of Racquets or broader club athletics management.
- Support to earn advanced certifications (USPTA, PPTR, PPR, USA Pickleball Coach).
- Participation in national conferences, teaching symposiums, and association events.
- Opportunities to co-lead major club events, tournaments, and community initiatives.
